    Download & unzip

    Keep the extracted folder somewhere permanent.

    Open your extensions

    Go to chrome://extensions or edge://extensions and turn on Developer mode.

    Load & hop

    Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json. Try Command + Shift + ↓ on Mac.

A few useful things.

Can I choose different shortcuts?

Yes. Open the TabHop toolbar popup and choose Customize shortcuts. You can assign keys for previous, next, first, and last tab. First and last start unassigned.

What about Windows and Linux?

The default combinations use Ctrl + Shift + Up or Down. Windows and Linux runtime behavior has not yet been verified. See the testing notes.

Can it replace every browser shortcut?

TabHop focuses on tab navigation. Some system and browser shortcuts take priority, and other extensions may already have claimed your preferred keys. These combinations may replace normal text-selection behavior while the browser is focused.

What does TabHop know about me?

It processes tab positions and identifiers locally to switch tabs. It does not collect or transmit personal information, read website content, or include analytics. Read the privacy policy.
